To build a successful business, the first step is having a clear vision of what you want to build and why. The clearer you are about your vision, the easier it is to get rid of all the distractions that get in the way of building the business of your dreams.

Do you know the best thing about setting a vision and sharing it with a team?
Because if you did our business, good physios know other good physios. So we ask them to refer their friends and there’s a self-selecting way of filtering out the crap people before we even start and get good referrals to come in. So we work closely with our team and we did build and we were able to achieve and get to 50 team members by 2012.
And the best thing about the struggle, the mess we’d come from, the struggle of the pivot and then achieving the goal was the opportunity to celebrate. Never, ever, ever miss an opportunity to celebrate.
The beauty of goals and visions that you share with your team, you set with your team, move towards making progress, two steps forward, one step back, all that sort of stuff, quick side by step.
Life is about oscillations up and down, that’s how it works. But when we get there, we can celebrate them and we can say thank you and we can appreciate the journey that we’re on. I think that’s one of the beauties of having a really clear vision and moving forward.
