What is Traction? Definition or Meaning

Wouldn’t it be great if the product you developed was the solution that fits like a glove? Customers love it so much, that they buy and recommend others to do so as well, increasing sales revenue for you as well as market share and adoption. This is where you would say that your product has gained traction. In other words, traction signifies momentum in market adoption.

For example…

When Little Bears Nursery started out as a small baby accessories shop, they had no idea what traction they were going to get in the market. However, after a year, their sales revenue had doubled to what they had estimated and they had customers driving in from all parts of the state wanting to buy some of the unique styles of baby cots and furniture they had for sale! Soon, they gained more traction when more baby brands wanted them to stock their products, further contributing to the business’s revenue. It was happy days indeed for Little Bears Nursery!
