You would want to find out how much “bang for buck” you are getting for all the dividends.
For example…
If you received $5 this year of dividends per share from an airline company you had some shares in and you spent $50 on each share, your dividend yield for the year would be 10%. Pretty decent if you ask me. Now, excuse me while I go research the current share prices for the major airlines…
