Cloud Hosting is a term used to describe where the software and hardware that runs your business will be located. You see, cloud providers house servers in specific locations and you can deploy your solution there and access them via the Internet. You won’t actually see the infrastructure running them, it’s “out there somewhere”.
For example…
You might have heard of Microsoft’s Office 365. It is a cloud-based Microsoft Office package where you can create Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, prepare presentations in PowerPoint and share with others in your company or indeed the public. All without actually installing Microsoft Office on your machine. This is because Office 365 is hosted in the cloud. It is installed in a Microsoft site on physical servers but made available to you via the Internet.
