7 Low or No Cost Ways to Generate More Leads

When you run a business, generating consistent leads is crucial for growth and success.

The good news is there are numerous marketing strategies you can implement with little to no upfront cost.

This article shares highlights from Business Blueprint’s Master Your Marketing event, a full day of training exclusively for members. Take a look at just some of the tips Business Growth Expert Dale Beaumont had to share on the day:

7 Low or No Cost Ways to Generate More Leads

    1. Start and Grow a Facebook Group

Growing a Facebook group is an excellent way to connect with your target audience and generate leads organically. The key is to create a group centred around a specific problem or interest your ideal customers share, rather than just your business name. For example, a men’s skincare company could start a “Bio-Hackers Australia” group for people interested in anti-aging and wellness. By providing value through the group and building relationships with the people who join, you can turn members into leads and customers.

    2. Embrace Messenger Marketing

Facebook Messenger and other messaging platforms offer a powerful way to network and generate leads. Start by connecting with people in relevant Facebook groups or by sending friend requests. Then, engage in genuine conversations, provide helpful information, and use “hand-raising” offers to capture leads. Tools like Genius CRM can help you manage these conversations and follow up effectively.

    3. Be a Podcast Guest

Appearing as a guest on other people’s podcasts is a fantastic way to reach new audiences and position yourself as an expert. Research podcasts in your industry, pitch yourself as a guest and share your knowledge and insights with the host’s listeners. This can drive traffic to your website and convert listeners into leads.

You can also create your own podcast, which can be an incredibly effective way to get noticed.

    4. Create Business Partnerships

Partnering with complementary businesses that serve your target market is a highly effective lead generation strategy. Look for companies that already have access to your ideal customers, and explore ways to cross-promote or offer joint services. Strategic partnerships allow you to leverage the trust and credibility of your partner’s brand to attract new leads.

    5. Launch a Referral Program

Encouraging your existing customers to refer new business is a powerful way to generate leads at little to no cost. Implement a structured referral program that offers incentives, such as discounts or rewards, for successful referrals. This taps into the power of word-of-mouth marketing and can lead to organic growth.

    6. Join a Networking Group

Actively participating in a networking group such as BNI or your local chamber of commerce can be an excellent source of leads. These groups provide opportunities to build relationships, share your expertise, and connect with potential customers. The key is to focus on providing value to other members rather than just trying to sell.

    7. Become a Public Speaker

Positioning yourself as a thought leader in your industry by speaking at events, conferences, or webinars can be a highly effective lead generation strategy. Not only does this help you reach new audiences, but it also builds trust and credibility, making it easier to convert attendees into leads and customers.

Most people can’t stand the thought of public speaking so by adopting this strategy you can really set yourself apart.

Final tips to generate low or no cost leads

Remember, the key to success with these low-cost or no-cost strategies is to focus on providing value, building relationships, and consistently executing across all three stages of the lead generation process: Creation, Capture, and Conversion.

You don’t have to implement everything at once. Start by selecting 2-3 tactics that align with your business and target market, and commit to implementing them consistently over the next 3-6 months. As you start to see results, you can then consider scaling your efforts and investing in a dedicated marketing budget.
